Black Silicon Carbide

Black Silicon Carbide

Black Silicon Carbide(SiC) is the product of silicon quartz sand and petroleum coke electro fused at high temperature in an electrical resistance furnace. The grains of Black Silicon Carbide are hexagonal crystals that are extremely hard, sharp, friable, and high strength(at 1000℃, SiC is 7.5 stronger than Al2O3), and have outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion.

Black Silicon Carbide is used for many applications as below:

Black Silicon Carbide-Bonded Abrasives

Black SiC is an ideal materials for Vitrified Grinding Wheels, Resin Grinding Wheels, Brake Pads/ Block, Frankfurt, Marble Polishing Stones, Oil Stones, Mounted Stones, Polishing Sticks...

Black Silicon Carbide-Coated Abrasives

Black SiC is used to make coated abrasive products, such as sandpaper and are available in sheets, discs, rolls, belts, pads wheels and other forms...

Black Silicon Carbide-Metallurgical

Metallurgical silicon carbide has low nitrogen and sulfur contents making it an ideal product for producing all types of iron. Steel plants use silicon carbide as an additive to molten metal to act as a source of carbide and silicon. Silicon carbide is a prime source of silicon and carbon offering a powerful de-oxidizing effect. Metallurgical silicon carbide can be used in the production of steel as a solid fuel to replace hot metal or adjust temperature. Metallurgical SiC good to the metal and enhances furnace lining life. Silicon carbide is utilized in blast furnaces to increase the overall efficiency of process by providing a fuel source for additional heat. Steel recycling plants also use silicon carbide to provide appropriate finish and strength to the final product.

Black Silicon Carbide-Refractories

Silicon Carbide has high meting temperature superlative for refractories. Low coefficient of expansion, chemical inertness, ability to stand up to corrosive environments and thermal resistance, makes silicon carbide as a goods materials for the production of bonded refractory products. Such as furnace and incinerator linings, kiln furniture, fire bricks, refractory cement, electric heating elements...

Black Silicon Carbide-Sandblasting / Polishing / Lapping

Silicon Carbide is an extremely hard sharp grain that is more friable than aluminum oxide. Because it is so hard, Black Silicon Carbide requires less time than comparable media. Silicon Carbide is used in blasting of extremely hard materials. Silicon carbide comes in several sizes, ranging from coarse grit to fine powder, which is useful for polishing hard rock like granite. This abrasive is useful for grinding glass, removing mill scales and any other application where aggressive abrasives are required.

Black Silicon Carbide-Wire Sawing

Precise silicon carbide powders are used in the cutting of silicon wafers. Silicon carbide is an excellent material for wire sawing silicon ingots into wafers for photovoltaic and semiconductor applications.

Black Silicon Carbide-Anti Slip Pavement

Black Silicon Carbide can be used in the surface of out door pavement, which are heavily trafficked area that must provide traction or stand up to heavy wear, environmental stresses, weathering and slip resistance. Such as deck of the ship, highway speed bumps, airport runway...

Black Silicon Carbide-Ceramic

High density and low porosity features make silicon carbide for high performance application, such as advanced or technical ceramic.
