The Difference Between Shot Peening And Shot Blasting
Shot peening is to use a high-speed rotating impeller to quickly project pellets onto the surface of the artifacts to achieve the purpose of cleaning or strengthening the surface of the artifacts. The materials used for shot blasting include steel shot, aluminum shot, glass beads, ceramic beads, etc. Although the shot peening and shot blasting processes have different spraying power and methods, they are both for rapid impact on the artifacts, and the effect is basically the same. In comparison, shot peening is more delicate and the precision is easier to control, but the efficiency is not as high as shot blasting, and it is suitable for small artifacts with complex shapes. Shot blasting is more economical and practical, and the efficiency and cost are easy to control. The number of shot particles sprayed can be controlled, and the spraying effect can be controlled, but there will be dead angles, which is suitable for batch processing of large-area single artifacts.
